Abstract

The ISS and NISS will be calculated for all patients admitted to a Level I Trauma Unit according to international norms using the Abbreviated Injury Score (AIS) 90 handbook. The predictive value of the scores in relation to mortality will then be compared. In addition a Maximal Injury Severity Score (MISS), a system which has never been evaluated, will be calculated and compared to the ISS and NISS.
