Abstract

Aim of study

To critically appraise the current concepts and principles in adrenal imaging, highlighting the important role of radiology in the detection, characterisation and diagnostic management of adrenal lesions.

Specific objectives

1. To determine the spectrum of adrenal pathology encountered in the adult population.

2. To determine the imaging modalities available for detection and characterisation of an adrenal lesion, highlighting the current concepts and controversies in differentiating benign from malignant pathology.

3. To describe the cardinal imaging features that characterise the various adrenal lesions.

4. To outline an integrated approach to the management of an incidentally discovered adrenal lesion and provide a comprehensive diagnostic algorithmic pathway.
