Abstract

The study will comprise enumeration of the sample and clinical exams.  Enumeration will be conducted by field workers and will involve first 5 clusters of eligible subjects within the identified district.  Clinical exams will involve a field visit by an ophthalmologist and clinical assistant who will determine the status of visual impairment by conducting distance and near visual acuity measurements and causes of visual impairment by conducting a thorough ocular health examination.  Both of these examinations will provide the prevalence of positive sight threatening pathology in persons with vision 6/18 or better that screen negative for the RAAB study inclusion criteria
