Abstract

Tuberculosis is a huge public health problem causing significant morbidity and mortality especially in developing nations.  This has been compounded further by the emergence of HIV/AIDS and drug-resistant tuberculosis strains. There is a paucity of literature in the documentation of the histopathological spectrum of pulmonary tuberculosis and pulmonary co-infections and co-malignancies in the HIV/AIDS era.  This study serves to extensively describe the latter thereby improving the knowledge base and prevalence of disease in patients with lung pathology.
