Abstract

During the last 3 decades, genetic counselling, carrier testing and prenatal diagnosis of

Haemophilia has become an integral part of the comprehensive care of Haemophilia.

In South Africa, there is no documentation on the views and experiences of Haemophilia carrier mothers. Whilst in some provinces carrier testing is provided, the mothers at the KEH VIII Hospital have not had access to this service.  My study aims to note these experiences, document their opinions on carrier testing and thereafter to suggest carrier testing in KZN.
