Abstract

Optimal use of scarce resources necessitates the careful selection of patients to an ICU. Patient selection therefore needs to recognize possible outcomes to ensure cost effective use of ICU resources. This study aims to identify which factors play the biggest role in predicting outcomes in children admitted to a PICU. The charts of all patients admitted to the PICU at Grey’s Hospital from January to June 2010 will be reviewed. Required information will be entered into a data collection sheet and analyzed.
