Abstract


Aim

The aim of this study is to link genetic mutations associated with resistance to anti-tuberculosis drugs and the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of each M.tuberculosis isolate.

Objectives

To establish the MIC of the selected anti tuberculosis drugs on the isolates.

To amplify and sequence genes known to confer resistance to the selected antimicrobials.

To detect the mutations by comparison to the H37Rv reference strain.

To determine any link between the MIC and detected mutations.

To examine cross-resistance patterns of drugs by analyzing the resistance profile and nucleotide polymorphisms of each isolate.
